About Compliant Always

What this is

Compliant Always is the AI compliance department for consumer product supply chains. It reads the documents that say what a product is and what is in it, works out what every market the product sells into requires of it, checks one against the other, and keeps that answer current. When a buyer, a retailer, a marketplace or an inspector asks, the evidence is already waiting.

Who it is for

Why it exists

Compliant Alwaysexists because of a pattern that kept repeating: the paperwork fails at review time. The tests had been run. The document existed. It just was not current, or was not complete, or could not be found on the day someone asked for it. It sat in an inbox, in a manufacturer's outbox, or in a folder named “final_v2”. The order was held, the listing came down, or the shipment waited, and the fix cost real money and weeks of sales.

That is not one marketplace's problem, and it is not a science problem or a legal problem. It happens the same way in front of a retailer's onboarding desk, a distributor in another country, an inspector, and an online marketplace, because all four are asking to see the same evidence. It is a paperwork problem, and paperwork problems are solvable.

How it works

Three things, in that order. Facts: every document is read and every value is pulled out with the place on the page it came from. Rules: the requirements that apply to that product in that market are resolved from a library where every line carries its authority and its citation. Evidence: each requirement is matched to the value that answers it, and anything with no answer is named as missing rather than assumed to be fine.

The AI sits at the edges, where documents arrive in a hundred layouts and someone has to read them. The middle, where a value meets a rule, is deterministic matching: the same inputs produce the same answer every time, and every answer carries the rule and the source it came from. That split is deliberate. A model improvising in the middle cannot be audited, and an answer nobody can audit is worth nothing on the day it is asked for.

Who makes it

Compliant Always is a one-person company, built and run by Jake, founder under Lettuce Labs LLC. That is a deliberate shape, not a temporary one. One person means the person who designed the requirement checks is the person who answers your email, and the person who reads a confusing test report with you is the person who can fix the extraction the same day.

It also sets the priorities. Compliant Always is built to be dependable rather than impressive: boring infrastructure, an append-only history, citations on every requirement line, and figures that carry the date they were last verified. If a value on a page cannot be traced to a source, it does not ship.

What it promises

It never guesses. A value read with low confidence waits for a person instead of entering the record, and “we could not read this” is always an available answer. It never hands down a verdict on your product either: it tells you what was checked, what it was checked against, and what a reviewer would flag, with the rule and the citation beside each line. Your team makes the calls. It will never fabricate a result, and it never presents software output as legal advice.
